- Understanding Media Sets - when you assign a media set to a backup job, it DOESN'T mean that media in the set will be used for the backup job. What it means is that after the job finishes, it will be moved to that media set. The Overwrite Protection Period, Append Period, and vault rules will then be applied to that media.

Migrating Backup Exec
Probably use beutility.exe (in BE program directory) to copy jobs, policies and database - see beutility_en.chm. Be careful with this utility!!!
