Summary

This article provides details on how to manually install Total Protection Service, and how to install different features using the command line.

Solution

Install Total Protection Service manually using vssetup.exe and select the required products:

Step 1 - Download the vssetup.exe.

Access the SecurityCenter at: http://www.mcafeeasap.com
Type your email address and password and log in to your account.
Click Install Protection.
Leave the default selection and click Next.

NOTE: Default option is: Install protection onto new computers (not yet managed by SecurityCenter)
In the Group section, select the required group from the drop-down list.
In the Products section, ensure at least one of listed products is selected, which allows Next to be available.
In the Language section, select the appropriate language then click Next.

IMPORTANT: While you are in this view, make a note of the <Company Key>. Copy everything after the CK= characters.

Under the section Additional Installation Options, click Display advanced installation methods.
Under the section Silently install protection services on client computers, click the link VSSetup to download.
When prompted, click Save. In the Save As window, browse to drive C: and create a new folder named Download. Save the vssetup.exe to this folder.

Step 2 - Use Vssetup.exe to select the required McAfee products to install.

Click Start, Run, type CMD, and click OK.
Customize your installation by adding the required product switches to the vssetup command line.

<Company_Key> = The Company key obtained in section Step 1, sub step 7.
<Valid_Email_Address> = Email Address (identifier of user to identify specific machine)
