FAQ

"Can't load SMARTUI-utilities library (code 5) access is denied"

Q: When certain networked PC's go to print a page from the internet a message appears on the server "Can't load SMARTUI-utilities library (code 5) access is denied".

A: Under printer Properties > Advanced, try unticking the button that's labeled "Enable advanced printing features"

To remove print jobs that are stuck on the server:

  1. Pause the printer
  2. Restart the print spooler service
  3. Delete the print job
  4. Unpause the printer
  5. If this fails, try deleting the contents of %SystemRoot%\System32\spool\PRINTERS (not the folder itself) while the print spooler service is stopped

Reinstalling printer drivers for Lexmark:

  1. Cancel any documents in the print queue following instructions above
  2. Remove the printer
  3. Remove any Lexmark software
  4. In Printers and Faxes, file, server properties, device tab, select the driver and choose "remove".
  5. Reinstall the printer
